Securities Litigation
Blake-Turner have experience in Securities Litigation, including in particular dealing with a dispute over foreign exchange transactions, which involved the interpretation of an Introducing Broker Agreement. This was a dispute on behalf of a broker which conducted business providing services to a number of Middle East based clients within a foreign exchange company which provided trading services in the foreign currency market and in contracts for difference. In the action Blake-Turner’s client sought an account of profits which it contended were payable by the Company.
Issues which arose included construction of the agreement as well as estoppel by convention. The case went to trial in the High Court Queen’s Bench Division and resulted in significant sums being recovered for the client. The case was reported:-
