Discrimination
Blake-Turner advises both employers and employees on all aspects of discrimination, including race, sex, religion and sexual orientation. In a recent case Blake-Turner represented a firm of solicitors in an Employment Tribunal claim brought by an ex-employee alleging both racial and sexual discrimination. Blake-Turner was successful in both defeating the claim and obtaining a costs order against the ex-employee in question. Costs orders are only granted in exceptional circumstances in Employment Tribunals and this was therefore a notable success.
Blake-Turner also advises employees on bringing claims and in disputes with employers where they have been discriminated against and have had a number of successes, particularly in relation to maternity leave discrimination and pregnancy related dismissals.
